Website Build — scope of work

This describes exactly what you get, what it costs, and what we need from you. Please read it before paying the deposit. If anything here is not what you expected, say so and we will sort it out first.

What we do

A 3 to 5 page website, built from a template designed for your kind of business, on your own domain.

Included:

• Your photos and your words, laid out properly
• A contact form that reaches you, and click-to-call on mobile
• Opening hours, service list, and a map
• LocalBusiness structured data, so search engines and AI assistants can read what you are and where
• Two rounds of revisions (see below)
• 30 days of fixes after launch

What this costs

$1,000 total for a standard build. A larger site is quoted before you pay anything, and the figure you are given is the figure you pay.

• 50% deposit before we start.
• The balance before the site goes live on your domain.

Hosting is charged at cost and passed through to you — we do not mark it up and we do not make money on it. You will be told the amount before anything is set up.

Revisions — please read this bit

Two rounds are included. A "round" means: we show you a draft, you send us your changes in one go, we make them. Then we do that once more.

Sending changes one at a time over several days still counts as a round. This is not us being difficult — it is the only way a fixed price works. If you need more than two rounds we will quote for it before doing anything, and you can say no.

What we need from you

Work cannot start until we have:

• Your text — or bullet points we can write from. We will fill gaps from the template, but a site written entirely by us will sound like it.
• Photos. Your own, that you have the right to use.
• Your domain — or a decision to buy one. If you have one, we need access to its DNS settings, or someone who can change them for you.
• Services, prices if you want them shown, hours, and service area.

If we do not hear back for 30 days after asking, we will pause and let you know.

What is not included

Saying this plainly now is cheaper than discovering it later:

• Online shop or payments of any kind
• Booking or appointment systems
• Logo design
• Copywriting beyond filling in the template — we will tidy your words, not invent a brand voice
• Ongoing changes after the 30-day fix window — that is a separate arrangement
• Email hosting, social media, advertising, or SEO work

What we honestly cannot promise

We do not promise traffic, enquiries, rankings or sales. We build you a site that works, loads quickly, reads well on a phone and describes your business accurately. Whether people find it and call you depends on a great many things that are not a website.

We do not promise a position in Google. This is not SEO. The structured data we add helps machines understand the site; it is not a ranking service and we make no claim about where you appear.

Timing

We aim to have a first draft in front of you within 10 working days of receiving everything in "What we need from you". That clock starts when your answers come back, not when you pay the deposit. After that, timing depends mostly on how quickly revisions come back.

Domain and DNS changes can take up to 48 hours to take effect worldwide, which is outside anyone's control.

Who owns what

• When the balance is paid, the site is yours. The text, the images you supplied, and the pages as built.
• The underlying template stays ours and we reuse it for other businesses. Your content, photos and domain are not reused anywhere.
• Until the balance is paid, the site stays on our staging address and is not put on your domain.

Refunds and cancellation

Cancel any time before we show you a first draft and your deposit is refunded in full. Once the draft exists the deposit is non-refundable, because building it is the work.

We use the draft as the line rather than "once we start" on purpose: you can see a draft. You cannot see us starting, and you should not have to take our word for when that happened.

If you cancel after the draft exists, you do not owe the balance and you do not get the site.

Your data, and what we do with it

• We use your information only to build your site.
• We do not sell it or share it beyond what hosting the site requires.
• Ask us to delete what we hold and we will, within 30 days, other than tax records.
• We may show the finished site as an example of our work. We will ask you first.

Boring but necessary

• We are Puppet Dev Studios LLC. This agreement is between you and that company.
• If something goes wrong, our liability is limited to what you paid us.
• Neither of us is responsible for the other's lost profits or indirect losses.
• You confirm you have the right to use the photos and text you give us. If a third party claims otherwise, that is on you, not us.
• Governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
• If any part of this is unenforceable, the rest still stands.
• Changes to this agreement have to be in writing — email is fine.
